TEXAS PLAINS TRAIL WEEKLY COUNTY SPOTLIGHT

Howard County is the 29th of our 52 Counties to be highlighted. The Texas Plains Trail and the Postal Service are partnering together to do a pictorial postmark in the county seat of 52 counties in the Plains Region. We will be in Kent County on August 4, 2010 at the Post Office in Jayton at 11:00 a.m. Each Wednesday of 2010 a different post office in a different county will do a pictorial postmark. Hutchinson County, with the cities of Borger, Stinnett, Sanford,and Fritch is a county rich in history and natural resources. Stinnett, the county seat, has plenty to boast about. Stop by the Isaac McCormick house, the city park, and make the trek out ot Adobe Walls.
While in Hutchinson County , check out the sites: County Courthouse-Stinnett, Adobe Walls-Stinnett, Hutchinson Co. Museum-Borger, Geodesic Dome-Borger, Ace Borger Home-Borger, 95' Cable Drilling Tool-Borger, Lake Meredith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum- Fritch, Lake Meredith National Recreation Area-Fritch and the Alibates Flint Quarry National Monument-Fritch.
Events to look for: Annual Quilt Show-Borger, Hutchinson's Co. Heritage Award Night-Borger, Downtown Beach Party-Borger, Downtown Merchant's Christmas Open House-Borger, Adobe Walls Trek.
